Sherry’s History

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I attended and graduated from Chaparral High school. I have worked in the medical field both for doctors and at local hospitals, in non-profit world, and survivied the school district as a substitute teacher. I am married and homeschooled two amazing people to adulthood and I still support the homeschooling community when I can.

In 2010 I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Human Service Management. In 2016 I graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Counseling specializing in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. I worked as a student intern and licensed intern in both agency and private practice settings. In my final years in college, I created Embrace Counseling, LLC. My mission is helping hurting people find their courage and strength to heal in the Las Vegas and Utah communities. My specialty is on grief, loss, and trauma.

Some of my training includes: EMDR, Gottman Couples Therapy, Parts and Memory Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, grief and loss training, somatic therapy for trauma. I continue training to work on learning and being more LGBTQIA supportive and culturally informed. I am also a Board Approved Secondary Supervisor for CPC Interns and MFT Interns in the State of Nevada. And I am licensed to practice Marriage and Family Therapy in both Nevada and Utah.

In my spare time, I journal, do CrossFit in my garage, and enjoy music and photography. I also enjoy travel and opportunities to connect with people in the community.
